A photo mode has been added to PlayStation 4 game Death Stranding that lets players pose their heroes in verdant landscapes of the post-apocalypse.
Bringing Death Stranding to version 1.12 is an update that inserts an oft-requested, freeze-frame photo mode.
Released for PlayStation 4 in November 2019 (and with a PC debut set for June 2020), Death Stranding tells the story of a lone courier who is helping to connect surviving city states in a recovering United States.
The country is living with the effects of a supernatural incident that caused an adjacent realm of existence to overlap more fully with ours.
Sam Porter Bridges, played by Norman Reedus (of The Walking Dead), is part of a rebuilding effort that involves the reconnection of quarantined cities.
A series of unusual missions takes Sam through exposed grasslands and rocky, igneous outcrops reminiscent of Iceland, Greenland and western Scotland, as well as environments that would resemble the dusty red slopes of a Martian quarry.
This photo mode arrives at a time when the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic has prompted many countries, regions and cities to adopt quarantining policies of their own, lending a heightened sense of relevancy to Death Stranding themes of connection with individuals, society and nature.
It also coincides with a PlayStation Store Spring Sale that reduces the Death Stranding price by 50%. – AFP Relaxnews
